Join the Safe Sitter® Class in June!
 
Sign up for the June Safe Sitter® Class  offered by Stephens Memorial Hospital(SMH)!  The class runs on Friday June 26th from 8:00am to 3:30pm and Monday June 29th from 8:00am to 4:00pm in the Harper Conference Center at SMH.  The Family Birthplace nurses Alison Newton, RN  & Lois Hardy RN will officiate the class.

Safe Sitter® (www.safesitter.org) is a medically accurate program that teaches 11 to 15 year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters.  The goal of the Safe Sitter® program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters.

Students get hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques so they are prepared to act in a crisis.  They learn safety and security precautions, such as what to do if a stranger comes to the door.  They learn basic child development as well as the business aspects of babysitting.

The fee for the two day class is $50.00.  Scholarships in the amount of $15.00 are available upon request.  For information and registration for your son, daughter, OR your babysitter, call 743-5933x380.   Online registration may done via our website at www.wmhcc.org.
