Two RNs Promoted to Nursing
Administrative Supervisor Positions
Western
Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M.
Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, announced recently that
Cathy Godwin, R.N. and Melissa Farrington, R.N., have
recently been promoted to Administrative Supervisors
Nights at Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH).
Cathy
has been at SMH for 3 years per diem in the ICU and as a
Relief Supervisor. She has held a variety of
nursing positions at many healthcare facilities over the
years. For the past 6 years, Cathy was a night
supervisor at Rumford Hospital. Cathy received her
Associate in Nursing degree from UMA, and is certified
in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Training
(NRP). Cathy lives in Bryant Pond with her
family.
Melissa
has been employed at SMH two years, beginning as a
travel nurse, working per diem in ICU and Med/Surg, and
has functioned as a Relief Supervisor at SMH. Her
experience prior to SMH includes staff nurse in a
cardiopulmonary unit ICU. Melissa received her
Associate in Nursing degree from University of
Maine Augusta, is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS),
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal
Resuscitation Training (NRP). Melissa is also a
certified forensic nurse and possesses a degree in
Respiratory Therapy from Kennebec Valley Technical
COllege. She resides in Manchester with her
family.

enjoy acting as resources for staff in the problem
solving process; mentoring, supporting and encouraging
the professional growth of staff; and collaborating with
