SMH Patients and Staff Enjoy the Photos of Beth Francis

Beth Francis, a photographer from Hebron is currently exhibiting her work at Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) in Norway, a show which will remain thru the spring.

The Beth Francis exhibit at SMH is thanks in part to the Western Maine Art Group and was coordinated by current WMAG Board President, Irina Kahn.  Photos are mostly outdoor and nature scenes in a variety of sizes, and prints of all photos on exhibit are able to be purchased.

Of her trade, Francis explains, "Honestly, I stumbled into photography. Perhaps many people do. When it happened to me it was a bit of a surprise. I had been taking snapshots of my life's events
forever.  Family and friends were accustomed to me arriving with my 35mm camera in hand to capture "the moment" on film."  In moving to the digital age of cameras, Beth shares her husband gave her a camera, "Little did he know he created a monster!  Once I started "pointing and clicking" there was no turning back. I snapped shots of the pond and the boats and the loons and the sky, it was endless and joyful. My 23 photo albums are no match for the thousands of photos I now have stored categorically in i-Photo. My walls have become home to many of the photos and using my desktop publishing skills, I've created calendars for friends and family. They all encouraged me to share my photos with the public."
