Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook announced recently that six employees of Western Maine Health have been awarded scholarships for further education.
For the first time this year Western Maine Health awarded scholarships from The Alton & Minnie White Nursing Scholarship Fund. The Alton & Minnie White Scholarship was made possible through a restricted bequest to Stephens Memorial Hospital for nursing scholarships. The Spring of 2011 recipients were Samantha Hewey, EMT-B, Stephens Memorial Hospital pursuing a nursing degree; Brooklee Marshall, RN, pursuing a degree in women's health as a nurse practitioner; Susan Rollock of Western Maine Surgery, pursuing a nursing degree; Lynda Smart of Stephens Memorial Hospital pursuing a nursing degree and Lynne Wheeler of Market Square Health Care Center pursuing a nursing degree.
Amy Turgeon who is employed by Stephens Memorial Hospital in the Accounting Office was awarded a Western Maine Health Scholarship for her pursuit of a bachelors degree in Accounting.
