Stephens Memorial Hospital kicked off the holiday season on Wednesday, December 7th, with the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree. A joyful crowd gathered and enjoyed the evening festivities.
Gene Benner, Chair of the Board of Trustees welcomed the group and introduced Sharon Nightingale and Michael Litchfield who serenaded the crowd with several seasonal songs including "Let It Snow," "Jingle Bells" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Both Sharon and Michael are Stephens Memorial Hospital employees who graciously shared their singing talents with the group for this special occasion. Andrea Burns, Chair of the Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation and the SMH Community Relations and Development Committee shared a poem with the audience and then led the traditional countdown from five for the tree lighting. The evening closed with the traditional singing of "Silent Night" which was led by Sharon Nightingale and Michael Litchfield.
Gene Benner closed the program with best wishes to everyone for a happy, healthy holiday season and an invitation to stay and enjoy refreshments in the lobby.
