Penny York Receives
Cardiac-Vascular Nursing Certification
Western Maine Health Vice President of Clinical Services, M. Patricia Cook, RN, MBA, EdD, is pleased to announce that Stephens Memorial Hospital (SMH) Registered Nurse Penny York, RN recently received her Cardiac-Vascular Nursing Certification.
The Cardiac-Vascular Nursing Certification is accredited through the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) which is a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA). This rigorous program required Penny to meet several requirements and pass a certification exam.
Penny has been a Registered Nurse since 1988 and has been working at Stephens Memorial Hospital for over 10 years. Penny has many roles in her position at SMH. She is a Cardio Pulmonary Rehab Nurse and facilitates the Mended Hears Support Group which meets monthly and offers support for individuals who are affected by heart disease. Penny is also the Nurse Care Manager for the Congestive Heart Failure program, a BLS and ACLS Instructor and works per diem in the Emergency Department.
