Flu Season is Here!   

Time to think about protecting your family - by vaccinating against the flu!

 

The providers at Western Maine Pediatrics (WMP) recommend flu vaccination for their patients!!

2014 Flu Clinic Dates

Western Maine Pediatrics will be holding flu clinics every Monday and Tuesday beginning Monday, October 6th and Tuesday, October 7th. Clinics will be held in the Western Maine Pediatric office and will run from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm.

In addition to the above flu clinic dates we will be offering additional flu clinics which will be held in the Western Maine Pediatric office and will run from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Below are the additional dates offered:

Wednesday, September 24
Thursday, September 25
Monday, October 6
Wednesday, October 8
Thursday, October 9
Friday, November 28

 

Do you want to save time?
All patients must pre-register with our pre-registration department for all scheduled clinic appointments.  Please call our pre-registration department at 207-393-3113 or 207-393-3114 prior to arriving for your flu vaccine.

Available vaccines: 

FLU MIST (Live Vaccine/Nasal Spray) For children over the age of 2 with no chronic health conditions.

Injectable flu vaccine for children 6 months of age and older.

  • Call our office at 743-8766 to schedule your appointment.
  • If your child is scheduled to see a provider, the flu vaccine may be administered at that visit.
  • We will be unable to administer the flu vaccine to any child without an appointment.  Please call the office in advance if you would like to bring siblings in during another child's appointment.

On the day of your child's appointment:

  • Please call our office if your child is experiencing fever or prolonged cough and congestion as the appointment may need to be rescheduled.
  • Please be prepared to wait in our office for 15 minutes after your child is vaccinated.  *Feel free to bring a favorite book or small activity to do with your child during this waiting time.  We would like to thank our volunteers who will be reading to children during our office flu clinics!

Important information:
Children 6 months old to 9 years old who have never had a flu vaccine before will need a series of 2 vaccinations 30 days apart.
