SMH Annual Fall Volunteer Luncheon
Stephens Memorial Hospital and Market Square Health Care Center volunteers were celebrated and recognized for their dedication and commitment at the annual fall SMH volunteer luncheon in the Harper Conference Center on Wednesday, October 10.
Timothy A. Churchill, President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Maine Health thanked the volunteers for all the work they do over the course of the year. He recognized the commitment volunteers make to the hospital and Market Square and the overall benefit they provide.
There are approximately 120 volunteers in the Volunteer Services department at Stephens Memorial Hospital ranging in age from 16 years old to the mid 90’s. In the past year volunteers have provided over 30,000 hours of service at a variety of volunteer activities focused on promoting the health and comfort of our patients and visitors. Volunteers were represented from the Thrift Shop, Coffee Shop, Café, Kitchen, Patient Greeters, Chaplain Services, Clerical Services at the practices, Medical Records, Mended Hearts, The Birthplace and Pet Therapy program. Students from the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School Life Skills program and the technical school Diversified Occupations were also present. Over 75 volunteers were in attendance at the recognition luncheon.
