February Safe Sitter® Class at SMH a Success

Stephens Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Safe Sitter® class on Monday, February 18th with ten participants.

Safe Sitter® (www.safesitter.org) is a medically accurate program that teaches 11 to 13 year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters.  The goal of the Safe Sitter® program is to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by babysitters.  The class teaches infant and child CPR, safety for the sitter, business practices and how to entertain children, among other things.

Please call The Family Birthplace for information on future 2013 class dates, at 207-743-1562 x 6951.  The Safe Sitter® class is a one day session and the fee is $50, scholarships are available.
