SMH Recognized for Employee Influenza Immunization Rates
The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention has awarded Stephens Memorial Hospital a Certificate of Excellence for an outstanding rate of employee vaccination for the 2012-2013 flu season. SMH is recognized for vaccinating 94.8% of employees and volunteers against influenza. The CDC recognizes these efforts as a strong commitment to worker, patient, and community safety. Just 19 of 41 Maine hospitals achieved this award. The average rate for Maine hospitals was 84 percent according to the Maine CDC.
