Western Maine Health Announce
Board Changes

David Hoisington, Chair of the Western Maine Health Board announced the election and appointment of two new members, Kathleen Herlihy, MD of Norway and Allen Connors of Bethel.  Dr. Herlihy and Mr. Connors will take the seats of retiring Board members David Kumaki, MD and Andrea Burns effective July 1, 2013.   

Dr. Kathleen Herlihy has been on the Medical Staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital since 2001 and is the current Medical Director of Western Maine Pediatrics.  Dr. Herlihy received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont Medical School and completed her Residency in Pediatrics at Maine Medical Center.  She currently serves as the President of the Board and Administrator of Ganderia Middle School.  In addition to her leadership on the Ganderia Board, she is also active on community Boards including the Child Development Services and Boxberry Elementary School.  Dr. Herlihy resides in Norway with her husband and three children.      

Mr. Connors is the Managing Partner at the Bethel Inn.  He graduated for Telstar Regional High School and received his BS in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Southern Maine.  Mr. Connors is active in a number of industry and local organizations.  He is currently a National Resort Committee Member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, Vice President of the Bethel Area Business Association and a current Board member for the Sunday River Charitable Fund.  Mr. Connors also held various positions in The New England Inn Keepers Association, Bethel Chamber of Commerce and the Bethel Rotary Club.  Mr. Connors resides in Bethel with his wife and three children. 

Dr. Kumaki and Mrs. Burns have served on the Western Maine Health Board for 9 years.  During that time they have each held various leadership positions.  Dr. Kumaki has been on the Stephens Memorial Hospital Medical Staff since 1993 and Mrs. Burns is a retired teacher who remains an active community member.    

Kelly West was appointed as a community board member of the Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation for an initial three year term.  Kelly replaces Frank Shorey who has been on the Stephens Community Healthcare Foundation for 9 years.
