Stephens Memorial Hospital Awarded Coveted 2013 Leapfrog Top Rural Hospital Distinction
Timothy A. Churchill, President and CEO, is pleased to announce that Stephens Memorial Hospital will be receiving the 2013 Leapfrog Top Rural Hospital award at a ceremony today (December 3, 2013) in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Churchill states, “There is a significant amount of work that goes into the quality initiatives at Stephens Memorial Hospital. Our Board of Trustees, our Medical Staff, and all of our employees are committed to providing exceptional quality care to our patients. This award recognizes that commitment."
The field of hospitals considered for this year’s elite Leapfrog Top Hospital distinction was more competitive than ever with 1,324 hospitals participating. There are only 22 rural hospitals in the country to receive the Top Leapfrog Rural Hospital award. Miles Memorial Hospital, another member of the MaineHealth system, is also a Top Leapfrog Rural Hospital.
